Notre Dame is the only non-P5 football school that can do it now....

UCF could have a second straight undefeated season and still not make the championship playoff because they aren't P5. Notre Dame can thank their tradition and brand for this. BYU can't do it. Neither could the military academies if they went 12-0. I honestly don't think a 12-1 Virginia Tech (ACC champions) would get in if there were 4 other P5's with 12-0 or 12-1 records. Tech would have to be 13-0 IMHO. Only the bluebloods like Ohio State, USC, Texas, Alabama, .. get in with a loss. It's probably going to be another 7-8 years before P5 conference realignment gets moving again. I'm not a believer right now but anything is possible. Personally, I'd love to see Notre Dame in the ACC as a full member. I have a feeling they play Clemson in the semi-finals (kind of like an ACC Championship game?).
